i don't miss taking birth control at all. i do miss knowing when i'm getting my period though.
that's sucks mer. i always had to be on special meds for the pain that i had. sucks still but not half the pain since i had kids.

Mer, I'm an ovarian cyst veteran also. You're right, there's very little pain that compares with that. I think that a guy getting kicked in the
balls is probably a good comparison, because the organs are made out of the same tissue (yes, that's right, ovaries are actually balls that do not
descend...nature's thrifty that way!) Anyway, it would be comparable to ball-kick pain, only for us, it lingers for days, whereas for guys, it wears off. I
hope you find a good, affordable med option, Mer!
Interesting that the cysts hurt you less post-kids, cousin. I never had a cyst till after Des, and geeeeeeeeez it's agony. It depends on where the cyst is centered, for me. But some of them are serious mofos. Jen, you're right, the early Pill was crazy dangerous like that. Yasmin always sounds reasonable to me in terms of its side effects, but I can imagine the expense gets tiresome. Love soon, Nessa

I don't know, Ali. I can't remember my mom ever describing one to me, and I'm the only daughter, so there's no way for me to know now.
There's oodles of info about them online if you google...that's what I did the first time one of those bad bitches walloped me!

nessa, my pain was not from cysts. it was from endometrosis/cramps. i've heard that cysts are horrible though.

Jamison is adorable. We thought of that name for our son, and if we had HAD another boy we would have given him that name and called him Jamie. sooo cute!! Our friends have a new baby girl and her name is Emerson. I really like that too. Mer I have cysts too and when I ovulate it feels like I'm breaking in half. I take Loestrin 1/20. I LOVE it. I have no period. no weight gain. NO PAIN!! They're very low estrogen too so you don't have crazy mood swings and such. Als I don't think that cysts are hereditary. My mother never had them. However, I DO know that fibroids can be hereditary. My motherinlaw and sisterinlaw have them and they're no fun either. Jennifer Garner is wonderful. I think that she is just the neatest person and seems so genuine. The thing that I love about her is that she gets all big and round like I did and enjoys it!

eeeek! Not fibroids! My mom had one at 23 and that's why both my brother and I were c-section babies because she had so much scar tissue from getting them
removed.
Mer, are you in school? Or no? Because when I was in college we could get free birth control from the school clinic.

Apparently, Minnie Driver is pregs and loving her weight gain, also. Haven't seen any pics, but I bet she's all aglow.
I can't remember where I read it, but apparently there's a conspiracy theory afoot alleging that Nicole Kidman was never carrying her own child, but instead there was a surrogate--possibly her sister or something? can't remember the goss. Anyhoo, now I look at every pic from her pregnancy-time with a skeptical fisheye. And it is true that she was mighty compact right up till the last week. However, many stars (and civilians!) manage to stay scarily trim during their pregs...not everyone's an oafus like me!

My mom was one of those annoying people who barely gained any weight when she was preggers with me. She literally gained the weight of me and that was pretty
much it. I want to say she gained around 15 lbs or something? She was very careful about what she was eating and making sure I was getting plenty of nutritious
food. She's just one of those blessed skinny, petite, bowling ball belly pregnant women.
I, on the other hand, I can tell you right now, will be a ginormous BOAT when I'm pregnant.

TT I heard that too, but she's also VERY tall and lithe and may be one of those lucky bitches who don't gain weight anywhere but their belly. My friend
Tracey was like that. Ali as long as you eat healthy during the pregnancy, the weight is ok. It comes off. I gained 55 with Kiera and 35 with Jackson.
Breastfeeding is fabulous.

60 with Jaxon. i never cared though because i never felt enormous or unhealthy. my doctor was shocked every time i'd get on the scale and would make me go
BACK to check it again. wonderful. she said i was too thin when i got pregnant and the body takes care of that by storing the extra pounds. weird.
