I need to get the next ones tomorrow. Are they as good as the first?
Also, I know they are making a Twilight movie, and I gotta say... Cedric Diggory as Edward? Ummmmmmmm.....

I know I am waaaaay late in the game on this, because I just finished the first book, but I read the whole thing in about six hours yesterday and I am
completely in love with it.

Haha that's so funny that you just started this.
My sister is OBSESSED with the books.... she read all of the books in a day each. I was sick of hearing her talk about them, so I finally started reading Twilight yesterday. I'm almost done! Haha According to my sister, the 2nd book is still really good, but a lot different than the first one. But she said the 3rd and 4th are awesome. I don't think the movie looks good at all...

I only know what Twilight is because there is way too much Twilight "flair" on Facebook. So I looked it up. Sounds like it's in the same realm as
Harry Potter and I pretty much refuse to read that.

It's not really Harry Potter-ish, but I can concede that if you are a Harry Potter fan, you might also like Twilight. It is a romance first & foremost.
And sososo sexy without being explicit. Love.
Just finished Breaking Dawn, so I will wait until you new obsessees are caught up...it won't be more than a few days if you are like me. Haha!

I just LOVE how she describes him, how perfect he is an all. Makes me swoon a little, not gonna lie.

No, I know it's not just like Harry Potter. I lump all that stuff together:
Harry Potter Lord of the Rings Dungeons and Dragons Star Wars Star Trek Twilight (the newest member) It's all science fiction/fantasy-type stuff. No thanks.

Yeah I guess, but its WAY more real world than any of the rest of them. It's more just a love story, and he just happens to be a vampire. The girl is a
human and she is the main character so it's all in human perspective.

I hear ya, Jen.
I HATE science fiction stuff... my cousin and I both do, and all of her friends and my sister love these books, so we decided to see what all the hype was about and try reading it together. Trust me, I would NOT have gone past the 3rd chapter had there been any crazy vampire things involved. I absolutely hate things like that... but it's definitely not as vampire-y as the reviews and movie are making it seem. It's almost like that's just a short side-note and small twist in the story, but I guess the story doesn't necessarily revolve around him being a vampire. I dunno, I figured out that it's one of those things you have to figure out when you read it. It's hard to make it seem non-science fiction-y when you describe it, and it's definitely readable for people that don't like that kind of stuff.

I adore this series. Micah got me "Twlight" for my Christmas pressie last year and I devoured it, then promptly went and bought books 2 and 3. I
about cried in a couple parts in "New Moon". I had to stop on several occasions and remind myself to breathe! That said, I didn't find
"Breaking Dawn", quite as suspenseful or tense as the other three, but I did love it and read it in about 6 hours or so on Sunday. My boy J was like
"That's like a little over 100 pages an hour!" lol!

Kiera and her bff had a Read-in Sleepover last night. She read New Moon and Zoe finished Twilight. Love it!

Yay for reading sleep overs. That sounds way fun!
I really don't like vampire novels...at all. I LOVE this series. I get all embarrassed when I have to describe the books to someone b/c I feel goofy saying I read a novel about vampires...there is a lot of stigma associated with that type of novel. It is not a "vampire" book series at all, but there is no way of describing the books without including vampires. I put off starting the series for over a year b/c of the subject matter, so I know reluctance about that type of books. You really just have to read it though to understand. I used to read those cheesy ass Harlequin romances when I was in high school some. They don't hold a candle to the sexiness that is Edward Cullen. Stephenie Meyer is an amazing emotional articulator. Not sure that's a real word, but that's what she is.

I know... when I was reading yesterday, I texted my cousin and said "I hate myself. I've become the freak that says 'I've fallen in love with
a fictional vampire.'" Kill me. Haha... I love these books.

I just finished the second book this morning, didn't like it quite as much as the first, but I do love Jacob. He's just so sweet.
Target didn't have the third book when I went so I'm going to have to go hunt to down tomorrow. I figured there was no point in buying the fourth because I'd be too tempted to start reading it before I read the third. I'm reeeeeally not so sure about the casting of this.... Cedric Diggory as Edward Eva from Grey's Anatomy as Esme Mr Jennie Garth as Carlisle I do though think that Kristen Stewart is a good casting for Bella, at least in the promo shots, she pretty much looks how I pictured her. Not so sure about her acting though.

Oh I should also mention BFF, that it is ok for you to lust over Edward because you are twelve. The rest of us are just pervs lusting over a teenager.

Just finished Breaking Dawn. I would have finished them all faster but most of my time has been monopolized by the Olympics.
I liked Eclipse a lot, mostly because I just adore Jacob, not like Edward, but I guess kind of the way Bella loves each of them. Or not. But something like that? Haha. Breaking Dawn.... I thought the ending was kind of blah. It just seemed so anti-climatic. The very end just melted my heart though. I'm probably going to go pick up her other book soon, The Host. Also, I heard she is writing a book about the story from Twilight from the point of view of Edward. Oh my hell, I might die being inside his head. Swoooooooooooon!

I've been dying!!! I finished Twilight a while ago, but the other books were at home, and I didn't want to go buy them again when I already had them.
So I've read Twilight twice now. Buuut I finally got home today, and am starting New Moon tomorrow!

I think she's got some preview chapters of the story from Edward's POV up on her website for those that are interested.

I decided that the casting of Cam Gigandet for James in the movie is absolutely perfect.
I'm kind of obsessed with him, and based on the small clips that I've seen of the fight scene, he fits the character well.

I just started reading "Twilight" on Thursday. And I really didn't read much that day. Today, I'm more than halfway through already. Anyone
willing to lend me the other books in the series? Pretty please?

So I finished "Twilight" in about five hours today. I have ordered the next one, but it'll probably take a few weeks to get here. I agree with
some of the earlier assessments. This is sort of a fantasy book, but I've never been into Harry Potter (and the like), but I LOVED this. Yes, it's a
bit out of the realm of reality, but there are still some very real elements. And Like Mer (I think it was she who discussed it), I love how captivated Bella
is with Edward. Their relationship, as a whole, is fascinating.
