I have been receiving quite a few requests lately from new members to be added to the allowed users lists for the private forums. This spurred an all-out house cleaning of the allowed users lists.
A note to all: the Private Forums at the Anti are used by longtime members to talk freely about their personal and private lives without the general public being able to lurk and read. If you are not on the allowed users list, it is absolutely nothing personal. It just means that you don't know folks well enough for them to feel safe and comfortable sharing their private lives with you. If you post enough around here that folks get to know you and trust you, then you will be added to the allowed users list so that you can participate in conversations about daily family lives of the older members.
That said, I did just go through and remove a long list of names of folks whose usernames didn't immediately ring a bell to me as people who I see online consistently. If you were previously allowed access to the private forums and now find that you are unable to get in and think this is an error on my part, it probably is. PM me with your information so that I know who you are and you will be added back onto the list of allowed users.
The private forums are not meant to divide our boards. They are simply a way to provide some safety and security to those who post here daily and wish to discuss personal information without worrying about it being publically accessable on the internet.
As always, I am open to discussing these matters with anyone via PM.
